Become a Member
If you’re not already a member, consider joining the BLCOA. Membership is open to all cottage owners and becoming a member is the best way to stay connected, support community initiatives, and help protect the future of Butterfield Lake.
Membership to the BLCOA is $30 annually for one cottage and $50 for owners of multiple cottages.
As a member you may:
- Vote at meetings on any important decisions.
- Receive a directory of all cottage owners (emailed) with annual updates regarding changes.
- Receive a map of the lake with cottage numbers (the updated map is coming out this year).
- Receive an extra door prize ticket at the annual picnic (new in 2025).
Your membership fee helps the BLCOA with many important endeavors including:
- Supporting our local Fire Departments and EMTs.
- Monitoring the quality of the water to assure safety for humans and pets.
- Hosting an Annual Meeting where important updates are shared.
- Putting out two newsletters each year.
- Hosting an annual picnic.
- Sending one individual to the annual New York State Confederation of Lake Associations Annual meeting.
- Supporting local food banks.
- Supporting the Indian River Lakes Conservancy and its scholarship program.
A few great events are planned by the BLCOA each year:
- An annual picnic
- An Amateur fishing derby
- A boat-in concert on the lake
- A boat parade
- A ladies tea
