Become a Member

If you’re not already a member, consider joining the BLCOA. Membership is open to all cottage owners and becoming a member is the best way to stay connected, support community initiatives, and help protect the future of Butterfield Lake. 

Membership to the BLCOA is $30 annually for one cottage and $50 for owners of multiple cottages. 

As a member you may:

  • Vote at meetings on any important decisions.
  • Receive a directory of all cottage owners (emailed) with annual updates regarding changes.
  • Receive a map of the lake with cottage numbers (the updated map is coming out this year).
  • Receive an extra door prize ticket at the annual picnic (new in 2025).

Your membership fee helps the BLCOA with many important endeavors including:

  • Supporting our local Fire Departments and EMTs. 
  • Monitoring the quality of the water to assure safety for humans and pets. 
  • Hosting an Annual Meeting where important updates are shared.
  • Putting out two newsletters each year.
  • Hosting an annual picnic.
  • Sending one individual to the annual New York State Confederation of Lake Associations Annual meeting. 
  • Supporting local food banks.
  • Supporting the Indian River Lakes Conservancy and its scholarship program. 

A few great events are planned by the BLCOA each year:

    • An annual picnic
    • An Amateur fishing derby
    • A boat-in concert on the lake
    • A boat parade
    • A ladies tea
